UNETHICAL

I was involved in an accident on June 22nd 2016; it took OVER a month for a "decision" to be made on a non injury accident. Amica is the insurance provider of the driver who hit me. He was pulling out from a shopping center onto a public roadway, attempting to cross my lane of travel so he could turn right onto another public roadway. The driver was NOT paying attention (he was looking down as he exited the shopping center parking lot) and his front driver side made contact with my front passenger side. Amica doesn't want to accept liability of their driver even after he admitted he was exiting the shopping center. TCA states he did not have the right of way. I had NO idea Amica insurance could decide whether they wanted to follow state roadway laws or not. On top of that.. The woman who was working the claim (which I might add I did a majority of the leg work for her gathering pictures and making diagrams so she could understand what I was verbally explaining to her), ignored questions in my emails, ignored emails completely, and then lied to me. When I called her out on the lie she didn't even acknowledge the email, imagine that!!! I will be calling the insurance commissioner in regards to this joke of a company.

All insurance companies represent THEIR client, not the claimant. The burden of proof is on the claimant when attempting to collect.

That's how insurance is set up by contract language.

Your insurance company represents you. If you choose to be the claimant and fight the at fault party yourself, you'll be responsible for all the leg work.

You always have the option to use your insurance carrier who is contracted to defend you.

Once they settle for you, they will recoup their expenses and your deductible. Hopefully, you'll never have to deal with this again, but now you know.

Avoid at all cost

I was with another company before taken the bait for a lower rate to switch to Amica for home service. They don't pay your claim if you're a new customer, their customer service is poor, and they run Ponzi scheme that is licensed by the certain state department, they take your money and don't pay your claim. They have lawyers in Association and individual insurance state board that they pay and would drop your cased before they even investigate, the illegal monopoly with provision papers works they would send you 60 days after they take your money. Apparently, one of last reason they gave for trying or not process my claimed, was that they need my final three years tax returns, utility bill, bank statement, etc. I don't remember before building my house in 2007 giving my bank this much info since I was 50% over LTV. Their provision that comes in the small note was only provided to me 60 days after signing up said so; I own a business why would I provide or sign with a company that is asking for such personal information. Worst insurance company ever, trust me you will find out. Grieco is much better, First they took me in, and cut my yearly premium, not in half, but below in half, my duty is to spread forth this new, until I have evidence that this company has lost what I have to come out pocket for repairs up to date

The exact same thing happened. The only notification I received was that it was cancelled.

I guess the lesson is that they won't send you notifications because they are looking at the first chance to cancel your policy.

Refuses to return calls or pay claim

I was hit by an Amica insured in a parking lot on 8/16/15. The claim rep M.Sankey will not respond to emails or phone calls. I have been trying to get a claim update and my vehicle repaired for 30+ days. Their insured told the police that he didn't see me so I don't understand why they won't just pay up. The Amica claims adjuster that came to look at my vehicle told me that I should be more careful??? Their insured hit me!! and attempted to give me advice on taking care of my vehicle I guess they are just hoping that I will have my reputable insurance company repair my vehicle and just go away.

No phone calls or emails. Let them know in writing, several copies, that you will be going to court against their insured. Copy to the insured driver as well.

Unresolved Auto Claim

I was backed into by an Amica insured out of Tampa Florida, on 12-27-2014', in the Publix Parking lot around 3:30 p.m., by older man, we were both in adjacent Handicapped spaces at the entrance of Publix Grocery. My wife and I had completely backed out of the space, at the stop sign, when the other driver backed his Black Chevy Impala 4 door into the driver side rear quarter panel without applying the brakes, then pulled back into his space, walked over tour car, pulled out his checkbook, stating: " I didn't see you the sun was in my eyes, and my mirror didn't pick you up." I said: "I need to see your identification and insurance information." When we got home we immediately reported the claim; but on Monday morning that person told his Amica insurance rep: " it was 50 -50%." deciding to lie. Amica got one estimate, theirs, and tried to get us to accept 1/2 of it. I got another estimate (higher), sent it to their home office, saying: UNACCEPTABLE." Haven't heard anything since! AMICA AUTO INS. unprofessional, unethical, crooked, uncaring to this Florida senior / Vietnam vet.

i recently got a policy renters insurance had to have if i wanted to move into the apartment complex when i did i told of specific items and reason i had them i did not have receipts for all but asked would pics help was told no they could be pics from anywhere but the sales agent assured me of her notation and over and over was covered up to 10,000 ok 6 months go by and very long story short had break in they did not want to take ANY evidence police or first investigator Amica provided but a month goes by and have sworn statement gave it and in the process was reduced to a state of distress and clear cut threats toward what future interests i might have in the state or anywhere period .but all recorded and carefully worded as only lawyers can do and not go to jail like i would be if i had of said a real response instead of being horrified at what was being said and scared of what i might do people snap and i have not been in that situation unable to defend because of his allegations of papers i brought not legit (they are) but without validation he squashed my claims and reasons proof instead of 7 months of every single transaction i had brought what i had a complete statement of that 1 account 7mos ago and what i have now not was not able to print only have tablet after break in and bank wanted to charge me have already fully co operated with 1st ins investigator and and much much more into my personal ,sexual, every aspect of private adult areas of life that we all have gone through come to find out the Amica agent idea of taking note on what i had specifically said was alot of electronics . and with no end insight more than i can write here and if a person in similiar situation this drove over the edge i would not blink having this as my first claim no felonies and 35 yrs old will be giving serious consideration to any thing other than dealing with this jaw dropping experience because of agents lack of notes and assuring me of coverage or their idea of what a customer/ criminal with intimidation and SS tactics of what they NEED access to and how it in any way is attached to a break in. that i on own aquired evidence that they did not even listen yo

Amica treats its employees like trash

I read a review today about the way Amica treats its employees and I agree whole heartedly. I left there 10 years ago and it still haunts me. The company makes up complaints, humiliates its employees and forces those out whom they don't care for. Then they make you sign something that says you will never work for them again. The folks in HR are animals. They said I didn't get along with one of my co-workers, which was absolutely not true. She and I met many years later and agreed we never had an issue with each other. The bosses bully employees until they have no choice but to quit. The pay is atrocious too!

Amica Insurance - Claim Review from Auburndale, Florida

I have been with amica auto for 10 years. I thought they were top rated. I did't know how much of a horrendous company until I was involved in an accident in October. I was injured, unable to work all dur to no fault of my own. From poor customer service to not paying claim payouts this has truly made me question the ethics of this company. I have been out of work with disability since October and have not received any wage loss payouts. They do not care about the customers and are only concerned with making payouts to the Doctors, bodyshop, rental companies etc... Whatever you do not sign up with them. After paying this company 10 years I have to beg for what's rightfully due me. Very disappointed with this company.

I had never heard about Amica. My son was hit by a car as a pedestrian in Boulder.

The so called Senior Adjuster never bothered getting any info from my son when he had the ordasity to deny my son the claim because the gentleman who hit my son, according to him, was a reputable Engineer & personal friend of his. Little does this Adjuster know that he finally came across someone who WILL fight for justice & expose him in due time .

I called today 9-17/14 and spoke to Tiffany, wanted car and home insurance looking for prices to switch to amica Tiffany told me to have a good day and hung up! Are you kidding me! So much for great customer service! Which is my job! All set your company will never get a good review from me!

Five times more for same coverage

I have 3 autos with full coverage and 1 with liability. Amica sends a mailer to me saying they can save me hundreds. I'm happy with who I have and checked several times and no one has even come close to a lower rate. I though I would give this company a chance and see what they say. I ask for a price on the one I have liability on and the price is $1200.00 a year. I give $220.00 a year for it now. I'm 62 no DWIs ever, no tickets or accidents and drive less than 10.000 miles a year. I tell them they are crazy and she starts telling me how good they are and how long they have been selling insurance, like 110 years. They should not be doing what they are to people.

Review about Poor Insurance Services

Amica home owners insurance is the worst. Due to construction defects my family and I have had to leave our home. We have a large family. My husband and myself have six small children and they put us in improper hotels that only had two beds. We live in a large colonial! Insurance companies ares supposed to help when you have a problem, not toss you around.Want some advice, GET A LAWYER
